St. Gall Youth Ministry Mission Statement: St. Gall Youth Ministry exists to grow a community of disciples, centered in the Eucharist, who are passionately committed to know, love, and serve Jesus and one another.
“My Life as a Disciple”
Most of us, no matter what age we are, have the same questions:
Whom am I?
Where do I come from?
What is God’s plan for me?
Where am I going?
How can I get there?
These questions are monumental in middle school and high school as teens try to figure out what their gifts and talents are amidst demands from both peers and parents. As a parent, we want the best for our children. We hope that they understand how much they are loved and wanted. But we also want them to know how much they are loved and wanted by God. In Youth Ministry, we try to create an environment that is safe and open to exploring what we believe as Catholics, why we believe and who we are in the eyes of God.
We learn ways to “connect the dots” from faith to Mass to home to school to God and life…
Who we are and why we were created is the foundation for how we live our lives and achieve peace and happiness. Jesus came to show us the Way and asks us to follow Him. How do we apply and integrate our faith in our lives?
The Peer Ministry Leadership Team meets every Monday night from 6 – 7 p.m. High School teens have an opportunity to learn more about their faith, create skits, games, etc. they can use to lead retreats and plan Youth Nites. For the Year of Faith, we are creating posters about our faith. Look for our posters at Church! This is a fun group that enjoys activities, concerts and trips like the Downtown Chicago Trip, the Living Stations, and helping our community. Let me know if you are interested.
FORUM: meets every other Monday night from 7 – 8 p.m. Open to all high school teens who would like to get together for snacks, games or videos, to talk about life and meet teens from other schools. All high school teens are invited to Youth Ministry activities, concerts, service projects, trips and retreats.
Youth Nites are held during regular class times during the 2012-2013 school year on October 24, December 5, March 13 and April 17.
7th and 8th Grade teens come together for fun, games, skits, prayer and discussion facilitated by our Peer Ministry Leadership Team.
Forum and Youth Nites are opportunities to grow our faith and use it to navigate through everyday life. Check out our Facebook page for current info and watch the bulletin! Join the conversation! http://www.facebook.com/stgallyouthministry YM Calendar.

The Year of Faith began October 11, 2012! In his Apostolic Letter, Porta Fidei, Pope Benedict XVI asks us to open the “door of faith” and enter into “the life of communion with God.” He reminds us that this journey lasts a lifetime. The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith also asks us to see our faith as a gift we should rediscover, cultivate and witness to.
