Contact Donna Doherty, Director of Faith Formation at [email protected] for any special circumstances or if you have questions. FIRST RECONCILIATION & FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2-year program in Grades 1 and 2 St. Gall offers a program of prayer and discernment for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist. These Sacraments are an early step on the child’s journey of faith - not the end of the journey. It will be the beginning of life-long communion in the Catholic faith. Reconciliation and the Body and Blood of Jesus will be available to strengthen and grace each child at every step of life’s journey. Each fall, parents of children beyond the age of seven (2nd grade) whose children are in their second year of religious studies will be offered the opportunity to enter a discernment process to determine if their child and their family will begin preparation for these two Sacraments. For each family, these Sacraments are a chance for a new beginning, for a renewal of dedication and appreciation of the Sacraments and our Catholic faith. Don’t miss our important parent meetings, the Family Reconciliation Retreat in September and the First Communion Parent Meeting in January! The First Communion Retreat in April is a fun and faith-filled experience for your family! Families preparing children for these sacraments will be given information as to dates and times of preparation meetings, practices and celebrations after the program year begins. Our Faith Formation programs are designed to support each parent as you share the meaning of the sacraments in your own lives. All Sacraments flow from the Eucharist. Mass attendance is a requirement for sacrament preparation at St. Gall. Does your child need the Sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation or First Communion? 3rd Grade and older? New to the Catholic faith? St. Gall offers programs designed for those children 3rd grade and older who are new to the Catholic faith or who have not received some of the Sacraments yet. The faith formation for sacraments is designed specifically for your family’s needs depending on the age of your children. Some children will attend the 2nd Grade classes and receive additional instruction with their parents. Because this is an ongoing process, new inquiries are always welcome. Please call the Faith Formation Office for more information about receiving Sacraments. Adults who would like more information about the Church and it’s teachings can begin the Inquiry Process for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) by contacting the Parish Office. |
BREAD FOR OTHERS and GOSPEL MESSAGE
First Communion students are preparing to receive the Eucharist by listening carefully for God’s word and serving others! Here are some of their comments! This week I was “bread” by holding the door at school and playing fairly. The Gospel message for 1/20/19 was about how Jesus turned water into wine and how he can change us too (Lauren V.) I was bread by being kind and loving when Mom had a bad day (Lucy P.) |
