"I love you, Jesus.”
So, imagine how flustered I was when both our 4- and 5-year-olds started talking during the elevation — that beautiful moment when the priest holds up the consecrated Eucharist and everyone bows in reverent silence… But in that moment, my children reminded all of us of who we were there for and what that God-man — Jesus Christ — was offering us: a gift of love, a gift of his body, blood, soul and divinity. Too often, we parents are so busy trying to keep our kids focused, or wrangling 6-month-olds, that we adults get distracted; our minds wander and we lose sight of the love poured out for us at Mass. We flub our responses to that love. This is why Jesus desires revival for us; he wants us to fall in love again. He wants us to, with childlike faith and full hearts, be with him, and to welcome him in the Blessed Sacrament and say, “I love you, Jesus.” Full article--https://nwcatholic.org/voices/joel-stepanek-osv-news/at-the-consecration-my-kids-had-something-to-say-to-jesus |

SPOTLIGHT ON THE MASS:
TRANSFORMATION! By allowing the mystery of the Eucharist to become a living reality in our lives, we can realize our full potential as human beings. The life that it transmits to us is none other than the very life of Jesus. As that life becomes more active in us and we are transformed into Jesus, we are assuming the very life of God — divine life. By taking time to consider how the life of Jesus is working in us, we can freely allow that life to affect our everyday lives. What better gift can we offer to those around us? —Excerpt from an article at BustedHalo.com & Sr. Bernadette Reis, fsp. Find out more about how to discern Christ’s call to transformation: TRANSFORMED IN THE EUCHARIST ARTICLE AT BUSTED HALO TRANSFORMATION Part 2
The Eucharist propels us forth to transform the world. The Eucharist “increases, rather than lessens, our sense of responsibility for the world today.” Christ in the Eucharist calls us to build “a more human world, a world fully in harmony with God’s plan” (Ecclesia de Eucharistia, no. 20). Filled with awe for all we have received in Christ’s self-gift, we respond with service and works of charity. We act to transform unjust structures, policies, and laws that degrade human life and dignity. -- Eucharist—Body of Christ, Broken for the World from the USCCB |
